Vado has created a solution that allows vending machines to connect with the most famous delivery apps and sell goods in an automatic and profitable way.
How does it work?

  1. Clients make an order,
  2. riders receive the address of the vending and a order code
  3. riders input the order code in the vending,
  4. vending machines dispose a bag and the products ordered by the client
  5. riders pick up the products and they deliver to the clients

Tell us about yourself?

I have 5 years of experience in Ecommerce and Digital Marketing, I have worked in L’Orèal and Amazon in italy. Then I moved for one year to Australia where I worked in two different startup as Digital Manager.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

I came back to Italy after the first covid wave and I noticed that despise the high volume of orders all the grocery store that were selling through QCommerce channel were losing money. We did some interviews and we discover that there were two main pain point:
1) last mile delivery
2) low efficiency in terms of labor cost and picking results in the warehouse

We decided to focus on the second point to help small retail business to close their activity at night and still sell their products through delivery apps.

What is your magic sauce?

Competitors focus on a solution that fits only one vending machine. The IOT solution of Vado aims to be customizable for all the vending machines that are currently on the market.

Where do you see your company going in 5 years time?

In the next five years I see Vado as the main solution for vending machine companies in the world to connect their hardware to the QCommerce space. We want to create the biggest network of automatic warehouse in the world.

What has been your biggest setback so far?

On June we had the chance to close one of the biggest company of vending machine in Italy, we unfortunately weren’t ready for a stress test and we didn’t pass the due diligence at the time. On March we will have another meeting with them and I am confident that we will become their suppliers.

What is the next big challenge for your business?

We need to educate vending machines and retail world to this new business mode. It is not easy to understand for anyone but the opportunities of QCommerce are huge.
