Ivanna: Stape Is the Easiest Way to Server-Side Tracking!

Stape started in 2020 as hosting for server-side tagging.

We wanted to implement server-side tracking on our sites and our client’s sites and found no easy way to do that without clear documentation on how to set it up. We decided to build a tool that will simplify server-side tracking.

Since then, we have started building an infrastructure for server-side tracking. Created custom scripts, tags, plugins that help website owners and marketers to set up server-side tracking.

Tell us about yourself?

I am a content manager at stape. I was always interested in IT, but never ever thought that I will become part of this world.

I chose a career of a translator and then was offered a job as Spanish, Ukrainian translator.

I am eager to be in the best team in the world and now I am trying to do my best to bring as much benefit as possible.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

The best advice would be: even if you’re scared, just go for it. Things will probably turn out great, because you’re striving to be hard-working, reliable and responsible.
Nothing terrible will happen, just don’t give up. 

What problem does your business solve?

We solve problems with analytics by improving tracking accuracy. We can also make pages load faster and keep user information secure.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Setting up server-side tracking can be a difficult and time-consuming process. With Stape, you get access to extensive solutions designed to simplify your server-side tracking setup. This is a relief for all of the advertisers.

What is your magic sauce?

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Build the most comfortable platform for users, optimise containers and provide more hosting zones. Stape is also planning to expand its team.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

For me, learning something new is very exciting. I am happy to face any obstacles, because I am interested in how far I can go.

Unfortunately, it was hard to work at first because of blackouts, but the company took care of all the problems.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

Online advertising is ever-changing, and new challenges come with it. Among these is server-side tracking, a method of tracking users’ activity on websites that rely on cloud servers instead of user browser.

So literally everyone who owns a site or app are welcomed to use our service.

1. Data control. You have complete control over what data each vendor receives. They will get only the information you configured in the server GTM tags and see in the outgoing HTTP requests. They can’t collect any additional information from your site.

2. Improved site performance. You can remove/reduce Javascript that runs in a user’s browser. It will lead to faster page load time, better user experience, and higher ranking.

3. Cookie lifetime. If your server tagging URL uses a custom subdomain (that is located within your main site hierarchy), server GTM will set first-party cookies. This drastically changes how browser tracking protection treats these cookies and helps prevent issues when third-party cookie lifetime is decreased.

4. Better ​​accuracy, reliability. Since ss tracking assigns cookies in 1st party concept and is more resistant to ad blockers and ITPs, these factors make server-side tracking more accurate than the client-side.
