Tell us about yourself?
I am a travel industry veteran. I started my career as a crawler developer at Kelkoo which was acquired by Yahoo. Then I joined liligo and became the CTO. And finally I am now the CEO of cozycozy. Travel & Search engines are really passionate topics, especially when you want to protect the users interests.I am the happy dad of twin girls, can’t really say what was the toughest challenge last few years 🙂
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Today, searching for the right accommodation can be painful and time-consuming. Having worked in the travel industry, we were aware that the existing accommodation brands often show biased listings and limited accommodations solutions.
We believe that it is the right of every traveler to see unbiased listings to book an ideal accommodation wherever they go. To ensure this, Cozycozy came into being to help people to find their ideal accommodation, at the best price in the simplest and most user-friendly way. We built a search engine that empowers all travelers with full access to relevant and unbiased information about all existing online accommodation solutions.
Cozycozy possesses the technology and features that help convey transparency, accuracy, and user-centricity, and give its visitors the ability to search for direct and fast results. We worked on showing the user exactly what they are looking for; all the useful information needed to be able to book their accommodation.
What is your magic sauce?
Our magic sauce is a combination of our incredible team and our product. We reunited a team of experts, most of us coming from liligo.com, the flight search engine leader in France.
With a cumulative experience of 50 years in the travel industry, our team came together to build a platform that is unbiased, transparent with a mission of making the accommodation search process easier for all. At Cozycozy innovation and drive to create come above all. We are an international team bringing individual talent and an area of expertise, and above all, a common drive for innovation.
Another important ingredient of our magic sauce is also the “seen it all” feeling that we provide to our users, which helps avoid website hopping and saves tons of time and money. We are the only platform to bring ALL accommodation types to one place; hotel rooms, vacation rentals, cabins, chalets, houseboats, resorts, beach houses, and even unique stays like treehouses or bubble tents. Where do you see your company going in 5 years time?
We are currently operating in 39 countries. Our goal is to continue expanding and become the world’s leader in the accommodation search world.
What has been your biggest setback so far?
Like all the other travel and hospitality companies, Cozycozy has been impacted a great deal by the pandemic. Nevertheless, we were back on our feet in a year. The pandemic helped us understand our product and users, it helped us shift attention to localized demand. We adapted quickly and, during the 2020 summer when travel restrictions were lifted, Cozycozy promoted domestic tourism with a big success. Moreover, to meet travelers’ expectations following the pandemic, Cozycozy also allowed users to filter the offers with the free cancellation policy. We want to help our users with all the information they need, so they can feel secure in their booking decision.
Despite the major impact of the pandemic, the company gained momentum and kept growing with each international market launched. Today our international market holds a major part in our success.
What is the next big challenge for your business?
In general terms, the biggest challenge for Cozycozy is making a name in a very competitive market. But with the values and unique service that we come with, cozycozy will be a game-changer in the travel industry.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We are always on the lookout to partner with international companies working directly or indirectly in the travel industry. How we see this kind of partnership is, that thanks to our technology, companies get to increase their leads and service areas, and in return, Cozycozy benefits by expanding in the new markets.
