Tell us about yourself?
I was born in Brazil and adopted by German parents. I lived in Brazil for 5 years. Two hearts beat inside me. I love the different cultural differences.
If more people could see that both cultures can participate from each other, and that too with other cultures. This is exactly what I see in projects with clients.
Companies need new perspectives and the courage to think differently. Being different is the key to success. Once recognized, being different helps with innovation. Considering this, I find international recruiting so exciting. People from another country often bring a different perspective. This helps in finding solutions.
Apart from that, a new wind comes into the company. This can also improve the climate. For me, we must focus on people and get to know them and not just keep our tally sheets, whether the resume fits or not. I came to this industry intuitively. There was a search for an account manager, and I was looking for a new job at the time.
I simply applied informally to the sales manager at the time, via XING, a German business network. A few days later, I was hired. That had been 15 years ago.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
If I were to give myself one piece of advice, it would be that we need to practice more humanity. Companies don’t exist if no one goes there anymore. Companies are made by people, with people, for people. It has never been any different.
Automation all well and good, but the time we have gained from that is not to become the robots, but now we have time to make emotional connections and spend time-sharing successes and helping others be able to do the same.
What problem does your business solve?
We turn the tables. Especially in this time of a shortage of skilled workers, it is important that companies wake up and realize that waiting is no longer an option.
Those who do not become active today and do not use social media for themselves will, sooner or later, be overtaken by the competition.
That’s why we help companies apply to the right professionals quickly, efficiently and without expensive and complex advertising campaigns, as well as dusty job postings.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Working has changed a lot in the last 15 years. The last two C years in particular have fundamentally changed the way we work. But for me, there was one very special moment. That moment was when a client told me very specific specifications about what the new employee I was looking for should be like.
What it should look like, not what gender would be best. That moment changed everything. The C years also showed me that we have lost even more humanity. It seems like people have forgotten how to do that.
We have to deal with it again and also value people. Then we will also be able to deal with the shortage of skilled workers. I want to educate companies and those in charge that people from other continents are also people who have experience and knowledge that can bring the solution that the customer wants.
To open up and make new things possible to create equal opportunities and perspective. This is the reason why I do everything I can to make companies earn the trust of people and therefore the company has to apply to potential candidates instead of the other way around.
What is your magic sauce?
The recipe is simple, but simple. Humanity, perspective, equal opportunities. We treat our customers and skilled workers humanely. For us, personal needs come first. Because both will work together for at least 8 hours and that most of the time.
This must fit. I was given the chance to build a life here in Germany. Other children have not been given this chance.
There was also always a person at my former employers who gave me the chance to grow. Today I would like to pass this on and give people perspective. We accompany our client and the professional, professionally and personally.
We have created a platform where the professional and the customer can get to know each other for months or years in advance and learn from each other. For me, communication is everything.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
My vision is to provide all people in the world with access to work, equal opportunities and perspective. For this purpose, we will establish our platform in the next 5 years and place thousands of people in singer-filled jobs. The goal is to have 100s of partners on every continent to carry the vision forward.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
When you are on your way to fulfill your vision, you will always meet people along the way. They stand on the curb and look at you, wave at you, give you a kiss, or give you the middle finger. Some, however, simply stand in the middle of the roadway and make you stop.
But then it is important to know that this was only a father morgana and that you can drive on. I once heard a sentence that fits very well. Entrepreneurs are like eagles, and they only ever fly alone. However, if they meet pigeons, then they fly too low and should fly further up again.
This can be the customers, or employees. Recognize the pigeons and move away from them. Learn to find your way in the desert so that you don’t meet any father morganas. Become part of a mastermind who are on the same path as you.
