Boks is a French Startup that produces and sells smart parcelboxes (www.boks.app/) for houses, appartment blocks and professionnals. Our parcelboxes garantee that all parcels can be safetly delivered without needing the recepient’s presence.
We are convinced that is it by offering a solution that truly meets the needs of each individual in terms of parcel reception that we will be able to take part in the transformation of the last mile logistics. Indeed, this sector is in real need of an evolution as the amount of parcels to be delivered increase drastically everyday.
By providing a consumer based solution, Boks is establishing a new infrastructure network that renders parcel delivery more efficient (less time for the deliveryman, an insurance that the parcel is being dropped of at the first attempt, better customer service as the deliveries happen without a hitch).
Tell us about yourself?
I graduated from the EDHED Business School, then had a career in investment banks for about 10 years in the M&A sector. I have always been interested in the entreprenaurial life but really steped in it when co-founding Boks in 2019 with Adrien Oksman.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Boks is born in 2017 from Adrien’s personnal frustration of not receiving his parcels at home. He imagined a solution that would allow the deliverymen to leave his parcel in a safe box when he was away from home.
From then on, Boks evolved thanks to the feedback of its first customers. The range of products is always growing in order to fit the different needs of our various clients.
What is your magic sauce?
Our added-value :
– Safety of the parcels. We have integrated to our parcelboxes a smart-lock as well as a proprietary algorithm that runs on built-in circuit boards. This enables our users to control EVERY access to their parcelbox.
– Possibility of software update even outside the factory – As our solution is fully connected, we are able to offer updates to our customers on a regular basis. As an exemple, we have recently added to our product, the ability to send parcels directly from the Boks (sending a parcel from home).
– Made in France and socially responsible : All our products are produced in France (Nantes and Le Mans) in local factories that employs disabled people (APF Handicap France).
Where do you see your company going in 5 years time?
We have forecasted an exponential growth in the next few years, on our national market but also abroad.
Added to that, we see that the proprietory system of Boks can be used for various use cases. This nourishes our vision on a daily basis as we better understand how we can accompany the different stakeholders of the last mile logistic and our end-users.
What has been your biggest setback so far?
Covid19 has created numerous challenges for us. The biggest one is surely in terms of electronics supply. Indeed, like many other businesses, we have suffered from the scarcity of microprocessor.
What is the next big challenge for your business?
We are looking foward to growing in France but also in Europe. Expanding to neighbouring countries is part of ou 2022 and 2023 plan.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We are happy to present our products and to discuss potentiel partnerships with anyone who senses that last mile delivery system is a subject worth working on 🙂
