Tell us about yourself?

I’m Pavel Beinia, CEO and founder of BuzzGuru. I am a serial entrepreneur in influencer marketing with more than 10 years of experience and the mission to drive innovations to the industry, making it fair and accessible.

My projects include influencer marketing agency, marketplace that brings together advertisers and influencers, and marketing intelligence platform.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Never give up, never back down.

As long as you believe that together with your team you can do what you aspire to, you can give your all to the work without looking back – thanks to this, everything works out well. My example – I had a great development team that was creating a marketplace, but this project failed, and we ended up in the Death Valley of startups.

Together with the team, we refocused completely, figured out how to use our resources in different ways, and took on a new high-tech project – our analytics platform.

What problem does your business solve?

The influencer marketing industry grows year by year, it’s estimated to become more than $24 billion worth by 2025. The demand for data trust and more easy and convenient access to influencer analytics grows proportionally.

Data-driven approach becomes vital when a brand or an agency runs advertising campaigns and evaluates their results. Also, businesses need to reduce potential risks.

Both experienced marketers and newbies, brands and agencies that already work in the influencer marketing field or are going to step in now, face 3 major tasks.

They need to: – discover relevant influencers faster, not wasting time on irrelevant accounts and connections; – gather the influencers’ data to analyze their performance and make informative decisions when preparing, running, and evaluating ad campaigns; – analyze competitors’ performance to make wise decisions on ad campaigns’ strategies and budgets.

BuzzGuru solves all the tasks, and, as a valuable addition, the fourth one: we help automate as much manual work as possible. Our tools are made to save marketers from monkey work and help businesses save time and resources.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

BuzzGuru started as a creative agency, so, in the past, we faced all the problems and tasks described above. We clearly saw that our people are busy with lots of work that could be automated.

So, our tech decisions were made to make our own life and work easier, faster, and more efficient first of all. The further we moved, the more opportunities we saw for developing new products for marketers.

In the end, we combined the best of them and made our own discovery and analytics platform, then – a Chrome extension to help our experts and all the people in the industry get information that is already neatly arranged for a business’s needs.

What is your magic sauce?

BuzzGuru itself is a team of experts that face all the same challenges as our colleagues in the influencer marketing industry.

We know exactly what people like us need, what businesses expect, and how to make it all work in the best way. Besides, BuzzGuru offers unique market research features for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitch.

This is the only platform that allows advertisers to take a look at the competitors’ influencer marketing landscape (including influencers they work with, their ad budgets, organic and paid mentions and more) and compare their own strategy against the leading brands.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We grow with the industry and help make its future cloudless. Our mission is to help businesses work more efficiently, reduce risks, and adapt to the fast changing conditions of the influencer marketing field.

We are going to proceed providing more valuable insights on both successful and failed ad campaigns, influencers’ performance, and peculiarities of work in different regions. In the next 5 years, we are going to make the influencer marketing industry a better place both for advertisers and influencers.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The first product we have worked on wasn’t actually our discovery and analytics platform. It was a marketplace for brands and influencers that doesn’t exist anymore – as you can understand, this project wasn’t successful. In the beginning, we were inspired by the idea of connecting people directly – influencers and brands, agencies, marketers.

We strived to create a perfect place where influencers could search for advertising contracts and brands could find influencers who were truly interested in collaborations.

When the marketplace was ready and welcomed users, it soon turned out that big influencers were not pleased with the idea that they needed to spend time on such a platform and search for contracts themselves, they demanded personal managers; brands, especially big ones as well, were not really interested in such an arrangement of search either.

Most of them wanted someone to prepare and run marketing campaigns for them – they wanted experienced agencies. Also, many brands didn’t need a marketplace, but a tool that would help them automate the search and make it faster and give detailed information on influencers’ performance.

This is what brought us to where we are today. The marketplace was abandoned as a dead-end product that wasn’t in demand in the world market. We started almost from scratch and considered all the nuances we had learned from our own experience and while exploring the market.

This is how the BuzzGuru discovery and analytics platform started: from the ashes of the marketplace.
