Tell us about yourself?

Tobias has been working with product compliance and product certification at two of the largest testing institutes in Scandinavia for more than 10 years. He is an expert in CE marking and the regulatory framework in Europe. Tobias has held seminars in the CE marking process for hundreds of companies all around Sweden. He has been supporting companies with CE analyses for many years.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

With a background as a electronic design engineer and after I’ve been working with product compliance at two of the largest testing institutes in Scandinavia for more than 10 years, I realized exactly how complicated this field is. Global product compliance can be extremely complicated and time consuming and that was the pain we wanted to solve. We wanted compliance to be easy, fun and simple.

What is your magic sauce?

With the use of cutting edge technologies and intelligent algorithms we streamline this complex area. Suddenly you can get an overview the global compliance status for 100+ products in just one click. The system also helps you staying up to date to any coming regulatory changes.

Where do you see your company going in 5 years time?

In 5 years Clever Compliance will be the no 1 system to use for anyone who are about to launch a new product somewhere in the world.

What has been your biggest setback so far?

Today, the compliance engineers working with product compliance at different companies are not used to working with a compliance management system since there are only a handful system on the market. The biggest challenge has been to spread the knowledge and educate compliance engineers that there are other, more efficient ways to work with product compliance today than lists in excel.

What is the next big challenge for your business?

We have currently expanded our system to cover a new (from July 2021) requirement affecting e-Commerce businesses, where we provide their sellers with an European Authorized Representative service. We have already become preferred providers for two of the largest e-commerce businesses in the world, and are currently working on partnerships with several others.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We are currently looking for partnerships with e-commerce businesses selling products to the European market, where we see that we can help their merchants as an authorized representative.
